چکیده

The friction stir welding (FSW) is widely used in the fabrication of Aluminium alloy and other non-ferrous alloy. It has good potential to be major industries such as automobiles, aerospace, shipbuilding can joining high strength alloys. FSW process low distortion heat affected zone (HAZ) with fine recrystallized microstructure which leads better mechanical properties at weld produces great stability. In this study, different parameters speed, tool rotation tilt angle, feed per min been discussed. types pin profile shoulder have also discussed their impacts on microstructural welded joints. Among various rotational speed most influencing parameter FSW. Increasing exhibits increase tensile supposed improve properties. would considered tapered threaded cylindrical makes adequate mixing material flow ability provide grains nugget zone. Comparing arc processes, it shows a wide range environmental benefits are noticeable saving consumable materials, decrease consumption filler reduction grinding wastes. Harmful emissions created from causes health hazard welder. For achieving joint-strength for aerospace aluminium alloys temperature sustainable metallic alloys, will preferred.

Study of Mechanical Properties Change During Friction Stir Spot Welding of Aluminium Alloys

The Friction Stir Welding process is now 20 years old and the interest in it and its potential continues to increase dramatically. FSW can be applied to a multitude of products with varying material types and thicknesses. However, a continuous weld is not always required to meet the product performance requirements. Thus, one can consider some form of intermittent weld, such as Friction Stir Sp...

Optimization of process parameters during Friction Stir Welding of Aluminium 5083 & 6082 Alloys

The paper deals with the optimization of welding parameters of friction stir welding of different Aluminium alloy groups. For this purpose 5 series Aluminium alloy Al 5083 and 6 series Aluminium alloy Al 6062 were taken .Tensile Strength test and micro structure analysis under various rotating speeds and tool profiles is conducted. It is observed that the increase in tool rotation speed and the...

The Strength of Friction Stir Welded and Friction Stir Processed Aluminium Alloys

Local strength of friction stir (FS) welds and FS processed aluminium alloys in heat treatable aluminium alloys is dominated by precipitation hardening. Strengthening due to stored dislocations is generally limited to 40MPa, and grain size strengthening is generally less than 10MPa. Local crystallographic texture can cause yield strength variation on the order of 5%. Published models for streng...

Influence of Friction Stir Welding residual stresses on the mechanical behaviour of aluminium stiffened panels

In this work, the longitudinal residual stresses that arise from FSW processes were measured by means of the Contour Method. These residual stresses were then introduced into a numerical simulation model based on the Finite Element Method (FEM), and their effect on the buckling collapse load of aluminium stiffened panels was assessed. The sensitivity of the models to initial geometrical imperfe...
